This preview includes one short counting exercise and one short FDE decision prompt. It does not include the full lessons or practice library.

Count the long words
Write count_long_words(words). Return how many words have at least five characters.
words = ["cloud", "AI", "field", "ship"]
count_long_words(words) # 2
Show one hint
Start a counter at zero. Visit each word once, and increase the counter when its length is at least five.
See a worked answer
def count_long_words(words):
count = 0
for word in words:
if len(word) >= 5:
count += 1
return count
The loop checks every item once, so the time grows with the number of words. An empty list returns zero.
This is a static example. Code is not run or graded.

Choose what to test first
A support team wants an assistant that drafts answers from internal guidance. A useful answer should arrive in under two seconds, and a wrong answer could mislead an agent.
Your prompt
What would you clarify with the team, and what small first test would help you decide whether to use retrieval, a simpler search, or neither?
Consider: the agent’s workflow, what counts as a safe answer, how you would measure usefulness, and what happens when evidence is missing.
This is a discussion prompt, not an automated assessment.
The paid course
A complete path through the current course.
The full course expands these samples into guided lessons and practice for the work an FDE may discuss: Python foundations, practical GenAI and retrieval, production tradeoffs, customer-facing system design, and experience-based interview stories.
It is self-guided preparation, not a hiring service or a promise of interview results.
Independent preparation. Not sponsored or endorsed by any company, team or organization. It offers no outcome guarantees. There is no AI grading and no code execution.
